Motivaciones para hacer el Camino de Santiago - Motivations to walk St. James' Way

Predicen lluvias...

He mirado la predicción del tiempo mil veces estos últimos días... y nada, que va a llover. Por lo menos los primeros días. Aunque estos pequeños versos que he leído hoy sobre el Camino (bueno, es una pequeña oración) me hacen sentir bien sobre el hecho de que vaya a llover durante mi Camino a Santiago:

Que el Camino de las estrellas te guíe con fortuna,
que el viento siempre sople a tu espalda,
que el Sol ilumine tus pasos,
que la lluvia bañe tu cara borrando la huella de las derrotas.
Y hasta que volvamos a vernos...
¡BUEN CAMINO!

Creo que la lluvia es, en efecto, un símbolo más de lo que este camino significa para mí.

Mi motivación principal para hacer el Camino de Santiago es, simplemente, una promesa. Hice una promesa y la tengo que cumplir. Además, tengo la esperanza de poder encontrar respuestas a las mil preguntas que se acumulan en mi cabeza (por lo menos a algunas de estas preguntas). Creo que caminar y estar alejada de todo y encontrarme en medio de la naturaleza de Asturias y Galicia me va a ayudar a meditar sobre todo ello, mínimamente. Y esta es la otra parte: me voy sola y sin conexión al mundo exterior (bueno, me llevo mi móbil por si me pasa algo...)

Estoy segura de que mañana no solo empieza un viaje que acaba en Santiago de Compostela, si no que empieza en Barcelona, cuando salga de mi casa para coger el tren a Oviedo y no sé bien dónde acabará...


The weather forecast is... rain

I have checked the weather forecast a thousand times these last few days... and it is going to rain. At least for the first days. Although this Camino prayer that I have read today makes me feel good about this fact:

May the path of the stars guide you with good luck,
may the wind always blow at your back,
may the Sun illuminate your steps,
may the rain wash your face erasing the traces of old defeats,
and until we see each other again...
BUEN CAMINO!

I think that the rain is, actually, one more metaphor of what this path means to me.

My main motivation to do el Camino de Santiago (St. James' Way) is, simply, a promise. I made a promise and I must keep it.

Moreover, I hope that I can find the answers to all the questions that pile up in my head (at least to some of these questions). I believe that walking, being away from everything and being amidst the beautiful wildlife of Asturias and Galicia will help me to think about it all. And this is the other thing about this trip: I'm doing it alone and with no connections to the world (well, I am taking my mobile phone with me just in case...)

I'm sure that tomorrow not only will I start a trip that ends in Santiago de Compostela, but it starts in Barcelona, as soon as I get out of home in order to catch a train to Oviedo and I'm not sure where it will end...
